EDIT: What I said below got clarified and I talk about that in my other project. In the case you haven’t heard, scratch is using our art to train AI. There’s projects that go more in depth by @CatTheLoaf and @Its-Smeargle-Time if you want to know more but that is the basic rundown. I’m not sticking around for this. I’m leaving. I feel like my leaving has been a long time coming, but this was the final straw. The fact that the site itself has just become worse and worse in both function (at least for me) and community and the scratch team have done nothing to fix it has really bugged me for a long time. Years. All the AI training is probably going to make the site run even worse. I’ll be a little active to talk to friends and interact with remaining mutuals and community members, but that’ll be few and far in between. I’m keeping all my art and projects up. I don’t have the space or capacity to take them down, and I kind of don’t want to. They still have sentimental value to me as projects, and the ai has probably gotten to them already, unfortunately. No new projects though. No sequel to WL on this site. I’m done. If you want to continue to follow the development of my new series and see my art, and if you’re old enough, I have a YouTube channel and another social with an almost identical username to the one I have. Or you could look up the name of my comic. I’d recommend you leave as well. Find someplace else to house your coding, animation or art if you’re old enough. Or if you’re not, just don’t be on anything at all. Go outside, talk to people, do things, make friend. In a world that’s becoming increasingly overrun by AI, it’s important to do real things and know real people. I really loved this site. But it’s just not the same anymore. It hasn’t been for a long time, and there’s nothing left for any of us here. I’ll see you guys around.
