As many of you who know me, you know I don’t really get mad easily, so this might shock on how aggressive I might be sounding, but I assure that this is only because of how terrible this is. My exact thoughts on this: As an artist who is STRONGLY against AI art, I need to say that this is NOT acceptable. Not at all. AI is taking over the world. It needs to end. There’s no secured way to stop it, but we can try. Use watermarks! Poison your art! (Not literally search it up) Rebel! This needs to END. Have you ever heard of Wisestar’s Lullaby? Yeah, the creator just QUIT Scratch because of this new policy. Scratch is going to loose more artists (which make up a majority of the community) every day, and they’ll have no one to blame but themselves. I’m just gonna say it. Why??? Why is the ST TRAINING the ONE THING that will probably destroy us all one day??? And why are they practically FORCING CHILDREN to agree??? AI is stupid. Art theft is a crime. Websites are “adapting to the modern life” by using AI. It doesn’t help. It just makes things worse. People and websites can’t keep getting away with this. REAL artists spend REAL time and REAL effort into their pieces. Stealing it is as good as saying it doesn’t matter. It needs to stop. AI needs to stop. Now. In case you didn’t know, the ST has practically forced us all to agree to LEGALY let them use AI to scan OUR ART and let them STEAL IT to help TRAIN AI. I’m sorry ST, and I know you’re gonna take down all of these projects, but rethink what you’re doing. I know you think it helps, but it truly doesn’t. AI has stolen people’s jobs. It has destroyed lives. It has done things that I’m not even sure I can say. It is going to be the downfall of humanity. Humans have survived for so long, because we haven’t have someone, or something, to compete with. “Survival of the fittest.” It’s a true saying and a true statement. AI can now learn on its own, and with humanity’s help, it will. It will be “the fittest”. (Quick science lesson sorry) Mammals practically thrived through the Ice Ages because they can create their own body heat. Reptiles survived sure, but it was harder and they struggled through every second. The dinosaurs perished millions of years ago because they were too slow to evolve and to adapt. Those who did evolve and adapt, well, that’s what we have on Earth now. There were other species of “humans” a long time ago as well, do you know what happened to them? That’s right, they perished as well. They couldn’t evolve to be smart enough to use tools, or to survive through the ever-changing climate. If we don’t stop AI now, well, sometimes history repeats itself. Everything we’ve ever known, could all be gone. Humanity could be gone. And it would be our fault. What this means for me: I’m sorry to say, but I’m going to go on a posting hiatus until ST figures themselves out. Until they give us at least an apology or something to tell us that they are sorry at the very least. Whether this is goin to be a long hiatus or a short one, I don’t know. Also T.L.W. and pfp requests will be on hold for a while. I don’t feel safe giving my art out to AI, especially not giving other’s OC’s or characters. That’s seriously not okay. I’m sorry, guys.
