Hey so I’m pretty sure everyone’s already heard about the AI thing by now but predictably I’m going to be taking down a lot of my art,, i don’t plan on having a career in art but i like having the option to do commissions and if people can scrape your art to make AI models of your style then it can kinda ruin your chances in that field. You can find me on th, artfight, and possibly other sites in the future as Lynxleap on th and --Lynxstar on Artfight. I’m far more active on th anyway and I’ve been kind of moving my attention more to there because I’ve outgrown this site a little bit, but I’ve always been fond of scratch and having to say this is leaving me with a heavy heart. I’ve been on scratch for over five years. My first account was created on my birthday when I got my first personal computer and I learned to code on it. I had a raspberry pi processor that I used for various projects. I’ve built my skills and grown my portfolio and plan to go into software and hardware engineering as a career. Scratch was a big part of my passion and experience as a programmer and i don’t even know what to say. Art is a hobby for me, it’s never been a career option for me, and I can only imagine how hard it’s hitting my friends and peers who want to be artists for a career. I’m sorry this is happening. I hope it gets better. I will be directing most of my attention and activity to th now. For those of you who are too young to move to a different site, I’d recommend looking into anti-ai filters you can put over your art. It’s my understanding that most need to be applied on a computer or laptop, but I’d recommend looking into Glaze or Nightshade to poison the AI database if it steals your art. Again restating that- it will only ruin the model if the AI steals your art. So if we all start using “tainted” art, then perhaps AI companies will learn to respect their artists and creators enough to ask. I will continue to be active in the dat winter event until it ends.
