This is not the rant I want to post. Really I’d like to say a lot more. But I’m saying this for my own benefit so i don’t go insane trying to hold it in, and the benefit of the community, perhaps you can glean some important information from my crashout. Why has AI been implemented into everything? You know how the film industry is mainly producing movies with terrible CGI now, right? This was perpetrated by audiences that wanted CGI when it was first being developed. CGI was viewed as an easier alternative to real life effects studios, best used in scenes where it’s just unrealistic to produce that much detail in real life. When audiences first saw CGI, they thought it was amazing. It was the new thing. “Hey have you seen the new movie? It has computer generated effects, how neat!” Nowadays? Movie studios choke cgi studios, for big-studio productions with well-done cgi the cgi studios ran so over budget that they go out of business, they run on such tight schedules with so many demands that it’s not realistic to expect anyone to be able to do that. I feel this reflects AI. AI is currently in the “wow!” to “oh no” transition. It’s still new enough that older people tend to like it because it’s new. It’s old enough that the general public have begun to dislike it. I don’t want AI reading my emails, i’d really rather not have the “more convenient” option! Have you ever considered maybe i like the human touch? I don’t particularly love Google Gemini slowing down every search result, it’s actually really inconvenient and annoying! I’d really like it if AI would stop making assumptions about me based off of my search history. Can it just stop looking at me in general? Can we stop educating large language models (which are notoriously not that hard to hack and break into) on the inner workings of our devices and social interactions and passwords? Just as a treat? I can’t say half the words I’m feeling but for younger audiences I trust you to replace them with “frick frack snick snack” I’d really like to have this be a more positive, “we can do it!” type bulletin but I’m just so so tired and logging on to this mess was exhausting. I need to study for finals. I need to focus on staying alive. I’d really love if AI wouldn’t come to the children’s coding website. I need to sleep and i need to study and i need to survive just another week, just another month, just another year. Get me through high school and we’ll talk. Keep AI off creative platforms. Keep AI of children’s platforms. Keep AI off of human spaces.
