Dear Scratch Team, You have made an update to your terms of service that allows you to train AI off literally anything we post publicly on Scratch, including code, art, comments, etc. and there is no opt-out, so the only way to not let AI train off our stuff is to not post it. Do you know how scummy and morally corrupt it is, and do you know how much it screws over literally every artist in this site? ESPECIALLY WITH NO OPTING OUT? Also, you're just allowing commercial use of it. This is unbelievable. Just, unbelievable. I have been using this site for almost 10 years over multiple accounts, and you are just allowing commercial AI models to steal it for training data. Even if I were able to delete it, there's still no way for me to stop anyone from taking it and using it to train their AI model. As an artist, I am APPALLED. I am feeling betrayed. My crest is raised as high as it can be. You are a site for LITERAL KIDS, and you are invading their privacy like this by letting AI steal their artwork and code (and maybe even their personal information if these kids aren't careful). **YOU ARE INVADING THE PRIVACY OF KIDS.** I don't think I can consider Scratch as a safe place for kids anymore. Online spaces are gradually becoming less and less safe for kids right now, and you are contributing to this. In short, AI is harmful to Scratch and its users, and I don't know if I can stay on a site that takes advantage of children like this. If Scratch does not go back and remove this AI nonsense by the 1st of March, I'm officially leaving Scratch for good. I will be deleting this account and I will stop posting projects on any account for good. I just hope that Scratch can make the right choice and stop training AI on our stuff. - Tori Birdsong More info: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1269751874 DO NOT HARASS ANY SCRATCH TEAM MEMBERS FOR THIS, THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS
