(All of this is from the original poster! My take in Notes & Credits!) hi! so with the new scratch TOS, ai has been allowed to use things on scratch for training (it is better outlined here btw https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1269751874#/ ) . This means that your art **could** sadly be at risk of being used to train ai. But! do not fret! if you are still planning to post art to scratch, there is a way to poison ai using a simple filter. These filters can be put over art to confuse ai and mess up its "art" generating abilities (if you can, totally go google it, its quite interesting). i would also recommend going to nightshade.cs to grab higher-quality overlays. How does this work / how can i use them? you can download one of these overlays from here, or search some up online (search AI disturbance overlays for best results). Then, grab the art of your choice and insert the overlay into the art software, and set it at 10% opacity, then post to scratch! as simple as that :D
space or click to view multiple ai overlays MAJOR eyestrain warning btw - OG posted 2026 January 22 at around 10:25pm poster's time - Current posted 2026 January 23 8:52 AM my time My Take: I personally dislike the use of art on a platform like this, a kid's platform, really? Anyway, I had gotten a notification, the second I had gotten onto scratch, mostly just on off-time in my Career Management class, and the infamous 'Country and state' window popped up. I just entered it in, no biggie, until I looked at the homepage and spotted someone I was following posting something about Scratch AI. Honestly, I was stunned, reading the few long paragraphs of what they had to say. And now, everything I have made, posted, conceived from my mind old and new... was at risk of being devoured by the jaws of an ever-expanding AI craze by major companies and websites. And now, this! you can overlay your art with these disruptors, and you can poison AI art with it! Fun! I think it's called glazing, which sounds delicious, and it is! For us artists, at least. It poisons the AI and confuses it, making it as useless as a broken transmission! (R.I.P Carolina... we'll miss the long road trips you took us on...) Annnyyywhooo... this is pretty coolio! Use it! Protect yourselves from AI art scraping! Oh! Wait! Have a nice day too, 'ya silly things!
