For programmers (coding): move to GameJolt, you can also sell your games there too. It’s a little complicated, but I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it! If you’re concerned about AI using your code even if you haven’t released the project yet, use TurboWarp. It is a faster version of Scratch with many new features (that are also completely optional), only problem with it is you have to download the project, no saving system (also you can’t post projects there). For artists/musicians: if you want to post your art for free and anyone to see, use basically any social media platform (GameJolt also applies here). As for selling, commissions, licensing, royalties, patronage , Etc works (according to spread shop.com)(I’m not much of an artist or musician, so I don’t really know here). If you’re concerned about AI using your art/music even if you haven’t released the project yet, use TurboWarp. It’s just Scratch, but a bit more complicated, but WAY better. No saving system here though, you can only download the projects. Also, if you want to screw with the AI systems, make any art/code/music in your projects that are posted to Scratch intentionally bad/unusable. If you want to protect your art/music/code from the AI, export it all off scratch, then either replace with a terrible copy, or delete it entirely. Also make sure you tell people you are moving off the platform, and where they can find you. Now take everything here with a MASSIVE grain of salt here, I don’t really know how to make money or what I’m doing really. Im just trying to help out. Thank you for reading all of this (if you did), and good luck out there. Hopefully Scratch will move away from AI soon…
Context: Scratch wants to use our projects for generative AI. They say they want to help us out with AI, but many people are opposed to this, as people don’t want their projects getting used by AI. If you are concerned about your projects getting used by AI, use the instructions, other wise pay this project no mind.
