hi everyone :) it's been a litttle bit since i've really posted, so sorry for posting this instead of a project XP update: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1270291994 its not as bad as thought (no stealing content and stuff) but still not very good i'm sure most of you have heard that AI is now being used on scratch, as in using people's projects to train off of. (+ the "local child safety laws" thing) the reason this is a problem (to me at least) is because 1. ai does not "create" things. all it does is take parts of human-made creations, and blend them all together. a lot of people don't think ai is bad just because of this, and i think that's kind of weird. if someone who is HUMAN were to do that with people's content (videos, designs, products) everyone would instantly shoot them down, so why is ai different? 2. ai is actually bad for the enviroment. i don't know much on this part of the topic, so excuse the lack of info. i've heard it uses (clean) water and a lot of electricity, which effects a lot of people who need that (pretty sure it's talked about in a linked project below 3. safety. scratch has always had the rule that we are NOT allowed to share our faces, our ages, location or anything else. But ai can pull people's REAL information from ANYWHERE on the internet, and spit it right back out at someone who might not have good intentions. that can be INCREDIBLY dangerous for children. i know you'd automatically assume it's the STs fault, but that's probaboy not comletely true, so do NOT attack anyone. ok, look. Scratch hasn't been good for me lately, with some of my friends continuously lying to me right now, but i wasn't planning to leave for another seven months! this is just making things so much worse for this site, with the bad moderation and people.
