LOOK AT NOTES FIRST So, from what I’ve heard, scratch team is training ai using our projects, or something. But I want to say that. I don’t think we know enough information yet to jump to conclusions. For all we know, they could be training ai to work as a coding tutor for people to learn, because that’s the most logical situation I can think of. But please, don’t jump to conclusions. Scratch isn’t stealing our code, and especially not art. I’m not for ai art or the idea of ai replacing us, but sometimes it can be useful to use (pleas hear me out): For instance, my example as a tutor. Ai should not do everything for us, but can be used well to provide as an easy, affordable outlet to teach us these skills. Think of school: most students struggle their ways through the last years, but using a tutor, that can help you comprehend the material. However, tutors are very expensive. Lo and behold, some AIs are free. The ai can teach you so you can actually learn and be successful. You might say that ai will replace tutors, but I have to add one detail: this has happened in the world before, like when we stopped using slaves or just poorly conditioned workers and switched to machines. This is natural, and so why is it different if it is ai? Karl Marx, a famous person in history known to be morally gray, was one of the people who refused switching to machinery, because people working was “more natural.” Now, I don’t mean to offend anyone, because I am not saying anyone is like him, but ai is useful. Think of all the millions or even billions of people who cannot afford an education. Ai makes this more affordable, so AI in itself is not always bad, and we do not know if it is in this case. Please do not assume that both this AI will be a bad experience or that I support every usage of ai. It is like plastic, a good and resourceful thing when handled correctly, but terrible when not taken care of properly. Please understand my position.
Guys it’s cnfirmed, scratch is just making a bot to help teach kids coding and correct errors.
