so, a project posted by @skycedar cleared things up a bit. apparently, scratch is not stealing our artwork, even though in the TOS it quite literally said they could... but anyway. there is still a huge problem. AI itself. AI in general? not great. AI in creative spaces in place of creativity? HORRIBLE. I don't really support AI in general, and seeing it used in creative spaces breaks my heart. I wish that, instead of using AI, people could be creative, or get help from real people, not a bot. It is so sad to see scratch create their own downfall by implementing AI. I hope scratch can see the error of their ways and not add more AI into creative spaces when they should be filled with creativity and real people, not AI continued in notes and credits
art by me, not AI. this is not an attack on scratch team. they didn't do this, the scratch team doesn't write legal documents. PLEASE do not attack members of the scratch team, that is not the right way to go about this. be mature please <3 so after reading a couple things, like, ok. so they aren't training AI off our data and it's 'safe'? alright so first of all then why does it explicitly say in the TOS that they can?? like if they aren't going to do that why cause all this distress by putting it there is they aren't going to even use it? so that's why I'm skeptical. and also, the thing where they asked what STATE we lived in? That's a bit concerning. Why do they need that information? And also, there isn't a guarantee that it is safe. It is definitely a possibility for the scratch database to be hacked and all the information could be leaked? I don't feel comfortable with that at all. and again, WHY DO YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT?????? And like also, why AI? Why use AI? AI is the opposite of creativity. having a bot code stuff for you? not coding. having a bot make art for you? not art. having a bot make really any art form for you? Not an art form. Incorporating AI into creative spaces crosses a line and also creates your own downfall. not cool scratch.
