Missing Chapter I : Potential Crowd Collapse next chapter: n/a ——————————————————————— The thumbnail is super ug I am sorry </3 Hi guys hehehehe… I wanted to practice my writing so I kinda wrote an spop fic? I'm the main character, because I didn't want to make anyone new or impersonate anyone, and the people I added are at the bottom of the desc. There are only a few characters so far. But, if you want me to add you or someone else, comment. I am always happy to add new characters. BTW: This is based on s-pop, kind of a school AU, but I swear I am not actually struggling mentally with any of the issues portrayed here… hehe ——————————————————————— I turned my head to the side to see Yeji shaking me, one hand on my shoulder. "Come on, Shuyu. Class ended three minutes ago." That only made me lean deeper into my chair, like the car screen in Jurassic park, or perhaps a dying stingray. What would be so great right now would be to close my eyes and block out the glaring death ray on the ceiling. "Come on, buddy," Yeji insisted, "get up!" She grasped my arms and, with a lurch, pulled me up. With a final deep breath, I shook off the drowsiness and walked out the door, to be met with a hallway of kids. At least one friend is here to help me lug my folders through the potential crowd collapse. Miss P would say sleeping in class is 'unlike me', but it hasn't just been that. Lately I've been dropping commitments and submitting half-finished assignments a lot more than I used to. I was even pulled aside to be asked about 'home problems', as if Rubie and I were strangers. I wonder why the closest friend of the missing kid isn't finishing their work. Once we made it to our homeroom, I dumped all my papers, books and folders on the shelf. Yeji slammed her back against the locker. The dilapidated metal box shivered, more than it should to such as small force. "Shu-pants, buddy. I am so bored," she sighed, dragging out her vowels. I flung closed my door. "Don't you have, like, three subjects to do work for?" "Yeah, that's why!" My mouth moved to interject, but was interrupted by a girl's voice screaming, "SHUYU, YEJI, THERE YOU ARE POOKIES!" Miu's voice and footsteps echoed against the vinyl, everyone watching her as she stopped abruptly and grinned at us. Yeji and I are of equal height, but Miu is nearly a head shorter. I squinted at her. "You realise there's no reason for you to be smiling right now? Brainrot kid." She just giggled. For context, she is a year younger, which may excuse the height, but also meant she is the only gen alpha in the grade. Around a month ago, Aeri started a rumour that she watches YouTube shorts before sleep. She only managed to encourage her to lean into the persona. "Yeah yeah, whatever you say Shu. You know all four of us are rotten brains, with Rubie." I tensed at the word, and the image of a blonde girl in my head. Miu went on, "But anyways, the music club results are out." My attention shifted. Our school has a pretty good sport program, and I guess the technology centre is not bad, but there is a reason we are known as the music school of Scratch. That was also the reason I wanted to go here. "There's a lot more people this time around," I murmured, craning my neck to look at her phone, "but surely, it's three out of a hundred spots." Some people, like Thea and Ena, get in so much that they essentially run the sessions. Miu, despite already being goated at art, did as well. Last year, Yeji and I missed out, which did not make my parents happy. For their sake, I really hoped to get in this year. Miu swiped over to our school forum and began to read. "Cat, Luna, Ivy, Thea…" I crossed my fingers tightly, only letting the tension release when I heard my name, with Miu's and Yeji's not far behind. Still, she continued, working through the last twenty. Until there was one name left, a name that I've been avoiding.
