I’m going to start this saying I recently logged on scratch and wasn’t originally going to read the terms or service. After doing so however, I saw that they were going to implement the use of AI, which utterly confused me for a kid’s app. I, as well as probably all of you reading this, might be effected the most about this as we are all artists, however none of the rules in the TOS were actually very clear about how they were using said AI. The whole thing is incredibly vague and I have no idea how this’ll end up impacting the scratch art communities. And the worst part? Artists on scratch have been petitioning AI for the longest time, only for them to turn around and be like “we’re allowing the use of AI on our site” which is just disregarding their artists entirely. I get that’s not the intended purpose of this app, but that’s what we’re using it for and they need to suck it up. I’m really sad to see scratch disregarding us like this, and even a lot of people are debating on quitting so they won’t get their art trained and replicated. While this is no worry to me as of now because my following is so little, I will stay until it gets terrible. But who knows when they’ll start targeting anyone and everyone. I hate how this had to become implemented, we all know that scratch needs Money, but this is a horrible way to use it. So why?
