⋅˚₊‧ ☁･ *:･ FAQ (Please read everything even if you've (co)-led before!) 1. What's WUC? WUC is a writing camp here on scratch that is bianuual (two times a year), runs in the months of April and October. Unlike SWC, WUC is slightly less competitive and we do encourage you not to stay up or pull all-nighters for cabin wars. It is similar to many other camps, but rather it focuses more on writing improvement rather than competition. 2. Do I have to write in my cabin's genre? Absolutely Not! A name is simply just a name and you aren't required to write in the genre you are in <3 3. How is this different from SWC/other writing camps? Although WUC is inspired by many other writing camps, WUC is a completely separate idea because we're a smaller camp that mainly focuses more on writing improvement rather than competition. 4. How will I know what cabin I'm in? Leaders will be messaging you comments on your profile sending friendly links to your cabin 5. Where are dailies and weeklies? they're in the main cabin ^^ 6. What if I have a question? You can ask either in the projects comments below or on a host's profile <3 7. When will the Main Cabin be created? It will be created a week or so before the start of camp, just depends on how quickly hosts/leaders can get things all settled and created <3 8. Will we have co-leaders? We might try it out this session, it just depends on how many apps we get <3 More apps means we're more likely to be doing co-leaders so take your chances and apply! 9. When is my application due? 11:59 pm UTC on February 21st. We are also requiring a text version of your app before this deadline. 10. How do co-leaders work? Applications not chosen to be leaders will automatically be open to being chosen as co! You are not allowed to advertise your application to the chosen leaders—we do monitor this. If you aren't selected as a co-leader, we advise that you keep your app shared—sometimes situations later on call for leaders to need to choose another co! 11. What are the cabin names? Cabins vary by interest every session, so you can suggest any cabin from the past or a completely new one in your app. The cabin list will be finalized during leader selection! Here are some from the past: April 2024: Dystopian, Fantasy, Horror, Non-Fi, Real-Fi October 2024 Fairy Tales, Myth, Sci-Fi, Script April 2025: Bangsian, Dystopian, Fantasy, Mystery, Poetry October 2025: Action, Epistolary, Hi-Fi, Mystery, Sci-Fi 12. What is the Non Competitive Cabin? This session, we're including a Non Competitive Cabin That Will Not Win. The Non Competitive Cabin That Will Not Win is a cabin separate from the leaderboard and the competitive aspect of WUC—it's designed to be relaxed and help participants focus on personal goals. NCCTWNW can be assigned to any genre cabin! 13. Can I get an extension on my app? Extensions are given on an individual basis, and only for unforeseen circumstances such as tech issues or a family emergency. Only 24 hour extensions will be granted, after there are 48 hours left until the deadline. You must provide your answers through a forum post by the original deadline!
