I began blasting lasers as fast as I could, at as many asteroids as I could, until the battery compartment flew open and my brother’s sword popped out, signaling that the jet was either out of power, or overflowing with power. The asteroids had stopped coming, but the radar on my dashboard was still beeping loudly. I looked ahead and saw an enormously huge asteroid, heading straight towards us, but I had planned for this possibility by stashing my brother’s old motorcycle in the storage compartment. “Link, grab all your stuff, whatever you can carry, we gotta ditch the jet before it gets flattened,” I explained as I gathered my stuff and pulled out my brother’s old motorcycle, “I still have no idea how this fits in here,” I thought out loud. I ran back to the front of the cockpit and mashed a few more buttons, then I shoved my things in the sidecar of the motorcycle, and climbed up front, “Ready, Link?” I asked him. “As I’ll ever be,” he said nervously. “Activate self-destruct countdown!” I called to the jet. I kicked down the escape hatch door and we fell, both of us screaming the whole way down, until I thumped the side of the motorcycle and a parachute slowed our descent. “See? I told you! If you kick it, it will work!” I exclaimed happily. We both glanced over our shoulders and watched as the jet exploded, destroying the asteroid along with it. We finally landed in the ruined forest village we had lived in when Link was training me. I sighed, relieved that we were still alive. “So, what do we do now?” Link asked, seeming tired, “Do we just wait for the Paw Patrol to discover us?” “Yeah, that’s the plan, do you have a problem with it?” I said with a yawn. “No, I like that plan. I like that plan very much,” he answered with a sleepy smile. For a while we stared up at the stars together, brother and sister, wondering what our next adventure would be. Eventually, I heard the distant sound of cars approaching. The Paw Patrol was coming, and I was waiting. “They’re here,” I said with a smile, “and I am ready to accept my fate, whatever it may be” THE END
