Like the friend I remixed from, I won't provide my own exposition on what's going down with AI and Scratch. Their own team's made a post about it to quell our fears, but some anxiety still remains: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/862915/ I'm just here to provide my two pennies, as if y'look closely at their vid, it's technically still going to take art without permission, even without the generative slop we all dreaded. A closer look's offered in this project by @cs554534: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1270424831 I fully understand the Scratch Team have their hearts in the right place, but I'm not so certain about the opaque "Scratch Foundation" above them; the foundation rumoured to have forced the AI business upon our Team..... so much for independence. -m- After the rejection of AI-generated costumes, Scratch became the last website I expected to be infected by the genAI bug. Guess stealing from CHILDREN is what the bar's sunken to..... stealing not just their physical creations, but the intrinsic joys of the creative process. The connectivity of co-operation with real friends, both online and off. The certainty of what is truly handcrafted and what is not..... That last one's not optional like the rest. UmU" I'll still be creating projects on here, since I've still got plans I hope not to have frozen again. Just remember that I'll always be at the helm of everything I create, no matter what mediums I use. Never shall I ever surrender to A.I. Carowde's rustbucket clockwork soldiers. Realising my expansive ideas in my own unique way, it's just too gratifying to give up. Ú//w//Ù
