I have been made aware that MIT, and by proxy Scratch, is leaning towards Generative AI, which includes using assets on the website, including art, to train AI models, https://u.cubeupload.com/sukiyo/thanksst.png As an artist who uploads their art to scratch, this is extremely upsetting. Finding out that the one outlet that you use to upload your art has been stealing it under your beak is extremely disheartening. You might have noticed that I haven't been uploading, I have been drawing, I just haven't gotten around to posting, but with all... this- I'm not sure I even will. If Scratch Team comes out and confirms the use of Scratch assets to train AI, I'm more than likely going to leave the platform. I really haven't used it much, and I feel I might be growing out of it. I'm extremely dissappointed in the state of scratch at this moment. With inconsistent moderation, ridiculout amounts of grudge-holding from the mods, a paid membership, to a NON-PROFIT WEBSITE no less, and now this? I don't know if I can keep going. As of right now, I'm not going to post any more projects unless neccesary, I will be semi-active in comments, and if ST doubles down on Gen AI, I'm more than likely going to leave the website for good. I have made so many great (and not so great) memories from my 9 year history on this website. and to that: Thank you, Scratch, and everybody who has interacted with me here, on Scratch.
