Hello!! I know I’m not an expert at drawing, but I wanted to show you the way I draw cats! Disclaimer: This is NOT a tutorial, so I will skip a lot of steps :) 1. We’ll be drawing XO today! I started off with the detailed sketch because I’m weird. I used 6B Pencil from Sketching but it doesn’t really matter since it’s just a sketch. 2. I then did the line art on a new layer like I always do, changed some things and made her better. I used Script from Calligraphy (that’s a brush but you wouldn’t know). 3. I colored her using Reference because why not and I accidentally put the coloring layer on top of the outline layer because I dunno why. 4. This is what happens when you drag the coloring layer back below the outline layer. *astonished* “OMG there’s a difference??” 5. I used clipping mask on a new layer and used this color to do the shading in the dark areas (trust the process). I used Script again because I was too lazy to change the brush. 6. I made the shading a bit better and changed the effect to Vivid Light. (I sometimes use Linear Light but Vivid Light looks better on XO.) No need to change the opacity though. 7. Gaussian Blur the shading because I’m lazy :/ 8. Did lighting with clipping mask and this color. (Trust the process again.) 9. Set lighting layer’s effect to Add and lowered the opacity. 10. Increased the opacity of the lighting a little bit and did Gaussian Blur on it. 11. Voila~
