This is MY opinion by the way, don't jump me please ;-; So apparently Scratch is adding an AI chatbot, which I don't think is very smart for the website that lets kids "Imagine, Program and Share", like, what is the ST doing at this point. Firstly, AI doesn't "Imagine". It copy's other things/creations and potentially makes them better,or absolutely worse, considering AI can get confused by a seahorse emoji and make MANY MISTAKES,(I know the AI in Scratch worries a lot of artists on the platform, I know one that temporarily left because of this) Secondly, "Program". MIT (Massechusets Institute of Technology) made Scratch to "allow young people to create" (as stated by the "About" section on Scratch). AI doesn't exactly "Program". Once again, it just copies. Plus, people could just straight up ask the AI to give them scripts for their projects, so they wouldn't necessarily learn how to code themselves, which takes the fun out of it. Third, "Share". The AI would just copy other projects, which would make Scratch less creative, considering that almost every project made here, was made out of a simple idea, like animations or games. Instead of creating its own ideas, it would take other ideas and make them better, like, straight up, NO CREATIVITY.
Lowkey no idea if we have a way to opt out of this-
