As some of you may have seen, I already made a project about my stance on AI usage, so I won't go too in depth about it here. TLDR: I think it can be good when used for menial jobs and to increase efficiency on jobs that don't require human ingenuity or creativity. I think it should be used to create more time for humans to be creative, not to replace human creativity. So what I think about the ToS update: I simply think there should be an opt out option. People will likely never agree on AI usage, so ST should let people who don't want to support AI to opt out of that feature. While I don't agree with this feature, I know that ST probably won't change their mind about implementing AI onto this site. They said it will help scratchers who don't have an idea on what project to make or if need help on coding, but I don't know if it will be helpful in the long run because it will make people more dependent on AI. And I already think enough people depend on AI for a lot of stuff instead of researching or learning on their own. I hope new generations of kids don't become so reliant on AI, but it's hard when so many online platforms are promoting it. We already survived for so long without AI; we bounced ideas off other people, we inspired other people, we supported other people's creativity. So why should we need AI for this now? I'm not suggesting that people leave this site. I just hope ST hears our complaints and revises their new AI feature.
Keep being creative and keep dreaming. AI can never take that away from you
