NOTE: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1271341455/ this project states that scratch will not contain any GENERATIVE ai, such as music, art or code as scratch has already confirmed the ethical issues regarding it (which is good) now, the way they plan to use ai is pretty alright, it's more of an assistant in the editor and is pretty useful - it doesn't just generate the code right away but instead, nudges coders into the right direction,,, while giving good inspiration from others' projects (mixed on this still) now let's just hope that the chatbot is COMPETENTLY made with thought out restrictions so that scratchers don't just go creating offensive or inappropriate things with it,,, now, i will admit my reaction did come from other projects, and i'm still VERY mixed on adding any type of ai to scratch but, this seems...... just ok of course, this is only just the beginning of the ai assistance implementation of scratch, so only time can tell where we go from here. hopefully we can bet this can only get better i'm still very AGAINST ai in all regards though, and what's below this note is still very true. i really dislike ai - i'm not happy that every site just HAS to conform to it to seem 'hip' and 'modern' in this day and age it can be used for good (developing better healthcare, and many more)... but we've only been seeing it being used for bad (brainrot, offensive deepfaking, company overdependency, false videos, etc.) not to mention that the resources it takes up is still pretty bad so it's very unethical i'm glad at least nothing scummy is being done with ai on scratch at least. we can (somewhat) rest easier knowing that, but don't let your guard down still stay safe everyone :) ------ i probably should put my two cents into this this account will never use or endorse any type of ai everything that i create on this account will STRICTLY and ALWAYS be made by me, and not some soulless toaster ever since i've seen the current state of scratch, and how they are planning to add ai to scratch (they have been doing this for a long while), i feel very disappointed even if many barriers are being set up to make this ai as platform and user safe as possible, i still heavily dislike the use of ai on scratch, for many reasons that are self-explanatory any games i am working on are now being worked on elsewhere. i do not want to work an a platform that may steal my own, or others' work they will still be worked on in silent, but not here feel free to have this favorited - it's a good thing to show on your account favorites and help spread awareness of ai i am dearly sorry if i have missed anything important about ai on scratch, but i've been too busy doing irl work and study keep yourself safe, don't feed into ai and keep your creativity legitimate and authentic!!
please keep your comments polite if you have any also ai is the reason ram prices are going up so if you plan on getting yourself any pc, laptop or just ram sticks in general, please refrain from doing so currently, as ai has made prices skyrocket (don't buy it off some nasty scalper either.) ai also uses a TON of resources - many of which could probably be used some place else, for the better we're all just waiting for the bubble to burst, and for companies to realise that ai isn't what consumers prioritize
