TLDR: I've outgrown scratch anyway but I am leaving in protest of the (possible) use of Gen AI. I haven't been online here in several months, and I come back to discover Scratch is considering implementing generative AI. Whist I'm sure there's nuance to the situation, I personally find genAI unacceptable, for a range of reasons. (mostly the negative environmental impact, and theft from artists) I'd basically already left this site- it's a children's coding site, after all, and I am an adult who mostly used it for telling stories with my friends- but I suppose I should make it official. In protest, I am never logging back onto this site. Even making this without accepting the new Terms of Service was a struggle, but I figured I should let people know. I am leaving my projects up, in the hope that people will still enjoy them and find them useful. Be kind to each other. If you see a mean comment DO NOT ENGAGE, just report it. In particular, I am sorry to those who were hoping for a microlabels project part 2, which I was planning to make until somewhat recently. I hope what already exists has helped you, and know you can always look up more. (I barely scratched the surface!) Also, I am leaving the comments on for that one, but I can no longer moderate them. Again, if you see something mean or hurtful, report it, don't engage. (This applies to all of my projects but especially the LGBTQ+ ones, since those are a hotspot for mean comments) Take care of yourselves, be kind, and don't feed the trolls. Goodbye. -Four
