AI on Scratch? Boycott & Spread the word!

!IMPORTANT PSA- 3 THINGS! As some might know Scratch has expressed an interest in implementing AI and recently changed its Terms and Conditions. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #1. Scratcher @91207 has suggested a boycott to let the Scratch administrators know how we truly feel. If you are against AI on Scratch and would like to participate don't go one scratch for a whole week, no posting, no activity, nothing. The proposed dates are Feb 1st- Feb 7th 2026. Here is the original project: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1270264768 ------------- #2. This update would seemingly grant Scratch the ability to use anything User posted to train it's AI model. I don't want to spread misinformation, this project goes into what the Scratch team has responded with: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1270291994 ------ #4. As an artist and someone against AI I want to combat this with creativity! This project has customizable sprites that you can make unique to you. Customize the character, the words, bg, etc to your fandom, your people, whoever you know. Spread the word about the boycott if you're against this update. Remember, even though it's terrible how AI is negatively impacting the art community(among other aspects) and it feels big and scary, it's not the end of the world. We can overcome this if we work together and focus on what we can control. If everyone does their part we can promote our point while still maintaining a strong mental state. I believe in us and our ability to combat this!
