Yeah, uh. Apparently Scratch is doing AI stuff now. You can't opt out, even if you take your projects down, and it can be used for commercial stuff too. I'm not gonna take my projects down because it's too late, but I won't be posting any more art or animations on Scratch until I know it's a space again (further elaboration below). If you support unethical/generative AI, please kindly leave. I'd rather not interact with people like that. I will only come back if they either revert their decision to bring generative AI to Scratch or add the following features: - Opt-out/opt-in setting to prevent scraping and training using your projects and their remixes - Opt-out/opt-in setting to prevent the AI from referencing your projects and their remixes - A label or disclaimer stating that projects used AI to aid in their creation There has been confirmation that it won't be used to generate images, and I think they may have rejected AI moderation tools as well, which is a good start, at least. However, I won't be comfortable returning to Scratch until they've also confirmed that it will not be used to generate audio, project titles and descriptions (instructions/notes and credits), studio titles and descriptions, profile bios (about me/what I'm working on), and comments.
