Previous - Packed into a box... Now which was it? First - You're holding it silly XD Next - https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1276429830/ -❆- "Iris!" My mom called "Are you almost done packing?" "Almost!" I called back. I looked around my room. Most of my room had been filled up with boxes, full of my belongings. Just my paintings on the wall remained. "Mom. I need another box for my paintings" I told her. "Alright, um, I just used the last one I grabbed out, I'm pretty sure we have some more in the garage, go grab one." She responded. I nodded, and headed towards the garage. I walked into the garage, searching for the light switch. After a few seconds I turned on the lights, and looked around. I walked over to the door where the boxes were, and grabbed one that I thought could fit my paintings. It was quite large, and awkward to carry, and I got about halfway back before I heard glass shattering. I immediately put down the box to see what fell. I looked down, and saw the picture of me, my mom, and my dad. "No, no, no, I didn't" My dad had passed away last year, and this was one of the only pictures of him we still had. Panicked, I shoved it into the box, and brushed the glass aside. "I'll clean it up later" I told myself. I carried the box out of the garage, and upstairs to my room. After about an hour I had finished packing up the paintings, and carried them downstairs. "Hi mom, I'm finished up with packing the paintings. Do you need any help with anything down here?" "Um, let me see." She paused for a second. "Just a couple plates, and pans are left, can you go get 2 small boxes from out in the garage?" "Sure. I'll be back." I said before going to get the boxes. I grabbed the boxes, these ones were easier to carry, given that they were smaller. I walked out into the kitchen, and started grabbing down some plates from the cabinets. My mom came into the kitchen, and started helping. "Are you excited for the move?" She asked. "I don't really know. I won't really get to see my friends again, but it's a bit exciting going some place new. I guess I'm just really gonna miss the memories we made here." I responded. "I understand. Feel free to talk to me any time you need." She said, probably trying to be supportive. 2 hours later we had finished packing up everything into boxes. It was 6:00 P.M. and I think we had both been tired after packing stuff up all day. "Do you wanna just get some sandwiches for dinner tonight?" My mom asked. "Yeah sure, That sounds good." I reply. "Alright, let's go" When we got back from the sandwich place we ate dinner on the living room floor. Our home now just felt like a house, pictures no longer hung in the hallways, plants no longer sat in corners. We were leaving a part of our lives behind here. All the friends we made, all the times mom cooked pancakes in the kitchen while I sat at the table talking with my dad, and all the times I sat in the backyard, watching the sun set. We were leaving it behind for a new life. I looked over at my mom, and for a moment I saw what looked like maybe sadness in her eyes, I don't know about what though. -❆- Critiquing myself a bit I think I have a bit of trouble writing natural sounding character interations Ending chapters is kinda hard
