I decided to join this competition because it genuinely looked like a fun and creative space to be part of, and I wanted to challenge myself by putting something new out there. Please pay more attention to the lyrics instead of the vocals, they're not that good. I wrote this song originally about my best friend. The lyrics were never meant to be romantic at first — they were just about closeness, comfort, and that feeling of knowing someone so well that they understand you without you having to explain yourself. For this version, I rewrote parts of it to make it sound like the song is about a boy, so it would fit the context of the competition a bit better, while still keeping the original meaning and emotion intact. The lyrics are entirely written by me, and the backing track was produced by Matthew May. I’ll be honest — I wasn’t completely sure how this would turn out when I started, but as I kept working on it, it slowly became something I’m genuinely proud of.
