The forest blazes in a harsh glow of bloodreds Burnt oranges Blinding yellows The trees have no defense against the flames tearing them down Hungry Always wanting more Eventually the fire consumes itself with its hunger Leaving the forest barren and desolate Burnt Blackened Dehydrated Grieving Yet out of the charred rubble A simple sprout emerges A small green leaf of hope in all the bleakness The survivors of the blaze welcome the newcomer They send nutrients And the sapling grows Higher and higher Higher Higher! It towers over all of the elder trees Dominating them But still leaving room for them And other new saplings to come
