Hey everyone, just wanted to say I've heard of the news of Scratch's newer policies. I am... less than happy with this. As a matter of fact, I was significantly discouraged from animating. Now before you claim I'm not saying anything new or that another scratcher has said similar things, just know if they did, I would agree with them. I've personally had mixed feelings for AI for quite some time... I was never fond of it, but at the same time I did not dislike it. Upon hearing of it being implemented into Scratch, I just knew that this was the perpetuation of Pandora's box being opened a long time ago... At the time of this project, I've been on Scratch for nearly 8 years now. After coming a long way, I finally recognized my true purpose for being here. Animating is fun but all the projects I did over the years, the fan characters, the action, all of it was meant for the sake of telling a good story. A story where an audience could laugh, cheer, cry, and simply witness creativity firsthand. For artificial intelligence to be put into a coding website and use other people's work to fuel its own deception, it is infuriating. I will not call out any names, but there are many scratchers and people who feel the same way. Some may view AI as a tool for the future, but I cannot stress enough when I say it is no substitute for the hard work of human beings. AI can replicate many things and gains more and more power by those who believe and feed into it. I'd be a fool to let my animations, characters and story be corrupted by it, so that's why I'm backing away from the madness. Before I leave, I just want to say this: I am NOT giving up animating or cancelling anything, just going to find a better place to tell the story my heart yearns to. Last thing I want to say is thanks to all those who supported my animations through the years. Your encouragement, support, and collaborations meant everything to me. At the end of the day, I will not be a fool for artificial intelligence if I can help it. What is better, to create something near-perfectly and flawless through artificial intelligence, or to put your own effort into a creation, faults and all?
