HII sorry for disappearing for the 6767th time :,) im back tho and i've made a bunch of new art so look out for that !!! ^_^ ((skip this part if you want!!!)) before someone says "oh, byler wasn't queerbait!! you're just being delusional!!" or "i've been through *ship name* you don't know true queerbaiting!!" or "you're just upset your ship didn't happen!!" 1. just leave☠ theres no point in saying that since i'll probably just ignore it and i don't wanna open this site to see 6764746 messages of people arguing over whether or not it was bait 2. I'VE SEEN SUPERNATURAL, LOKI, VOLTRON, AND WEDNESDAY DONT EVEN PLAYYw 3. it's not delusional to think tjat a character who is canonically in love with another character in a show that's creators have said to look into the details many times in the past will (or in this context would have) end up together!! 4. byler not happening is *A* reason why i'm upset about the show but it's not *THE* reason. there was a lot I was disappointed in but if I ever went into full detail I don't think my ranting would be able to fit the entire thing :,) though imo the main reasons I was upset is that there was a bunch of wasted potential after sorcerer and there were multiple different plot holes and questions that were never answered. plus jane's death felt unnecessary and I feel like it set a really bad example for people in similar situations ((end of section!!)) now that that's out of the way ITS TIME TO ADDRESS THE QUEER BAITING ELEPHANT IN THE NETFLIX SHAPED ROOM there were so many loose ends between the two of them that were never resolved. mike still thinks the painting was commissioned by jane, will still doesn't know mike tried to call him when he was in california, mike never apologized for being a jerk, the blue and yellow color thing was also never addressed??, there was merch for a mixtape that said "for will" that was never brought up in the show, etc. And if all of these meant nothing or if all of these just so happened to "happen off screen" (like the rest of the show apparently), then the duffers have blatantly lied to us. they have stated in past interviews that the painting will be a major plot point, finn himself said the duffers told him mike's obliviousness would pay off in the end, and for what?? why do they keep lying to us?? just to lead us on, to make more money?? the creators for wednesday have disproved wenclair and the cast has disproved any sort of eddie revival; why are they complaining about us being "noise"?? they would have stopped that "noise" a while ago if they had just confirmed that byler wouldn't be canon ((not saying people would stop shipping byler, just saying they would have stopped the persisting questions and statements that it would happen)) plus, the coming out scene was garbage. i've already ranted about this in the past so I don't wanna say everything again but if you've already read it, it's obvious I hate it. they keep saying stuff about how they want to be "realistic" about these sort of topics in their show but if their idea of a "realistic" coming out scene is a boy coming out to large amount of people, half of them being people he barely even knows, then they're in the wrong. and back to the realistic part, why did they choose will's LOVE for mike to be "realistic" in a show about kids with powers and plant shaped monsters?? sure, its realistic for a closeted kid in the 80s to have unreciprocated feelings. but do they not know that it's also realistic to have a closeted kid in the 80s to have *reciprocated* feelings?? all the time in these types of stories it's always the queer character who's left out. who doesn't get the same experiences or love that their friends and the people around them receive. who always has to be the one who goes through inexplicable pain. solely because they're *queer.* and all of the time in these stories when said character's self acceptance arc comes around, they have to move on from the love of their life. I know this might come off as overdramatic but are queer people just seen as incapable of love; incapable of being "normal" because we have a different preference in your eyes, duffers?? I mean yeah, you gave us rovickie. but even so, you said in an interview that they definitely broke up off screen because it's "unrealistic" for people to stay with their high school lovers. but when people ask you about lumax, you say that they're an exception because their love is more genuine and deep?? (I love lumax btw I'm just using them as an example) just say you used rovickie for diversity points. -->
(contd bc its too long apparently!!) --> stranger things is one of the most popular shows in the world and the duffers had the opportunity to show a wider general audience full of not just queer, but straight people that being queer is valid. they could have made queer people finally feel seen and heard properly for being represented positively on the big screen and that robin's story isn't just a blueprint for everyone who is queer. that some people could have tammys, some could have vickies, some could have both, some could have neither, etc. that they could still learn to love and accept themself for who they are without moving on from the loves of their lives. but no; the duffers are selfish cowards who dragged a majority of their audience along for money, used ai for their scripts, lied to their viewers on interviews, allegedly slapped their own names onto Leigh janak's work (shoutout to her fear street was great with her), treated their cast with disrespect because it's "funny," didn't even watch their own show for years, called some of their audience "noise," and even more. it's clear that they don't even care to put any effort into their work. yes, it IS that deep. this goes beyond wanting to see two boys get together. I really don't know what else to type out and I'm writing this on my school chromebook so if this seems rushed or if there's any mistakes anywhere please lmk!! ^^ buh bye i'll be back :3
