Click/tap/<space> key to see beautiful mandalas. Google AI said "Mandalas are circular, symbolic patterns representing the universe and inner-outer world connections, originating from a central point. These intricate designs—ranging from geometric to organic floral, and traditional Tibetan sand forms—are used for meditation, spiritual guidance, and therapeutic, artistic expression." The project uses Kissing Circles. Kissing Circles are circles that just touch each other. Randomness: 6 to 20 kissing circles around the inside of a circle. one each of six colors, saturations and brightnesses. But the kissing circles are identical! * To get the mandala effect, circles are drawn "inside" the kissing circles around the circumference but overlapping the outer circles by half their diameter. The math to calculate the radius r for N kissing circles inside a large circle radius R is explained in the hidden sprite "Math for Kissing Circles" inside this project. This project uses Recursion. Kissing Circles are drawn inside kissing circles getting smaller and smaller through several levels. The custom block (or My Block) that draws the kissing circles calls itself. To prevent the code forever drawing smaller and smaller kissing circles, the code only draws the smaller circles if their radius will be greater than 10.
A Kissing Circles project here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1271414630/ Sand Mandalas made by Tibetan Buddhist monks using brightly coloured sand are stunningly beautiful! After they are made, which may take weeks, the monks destroy them to show the impermanence of all life. Code all by me but inspired by Mandala pictures at https://kennethjinks.artstation.com/projects/Lq8dw
