Q1: What's your favorite genre/genres? A: historical fiction. often it is really touching, suspenseful, or engaging, elements that i both admire in a story and struggle to add without making it sound like an AI romance novel XD Q2: Have you ever finished writing a story? A: lol nope Q3: First person POV, second person POV, or third person POV? A: first person. i ike stories better when you canget inside someone's head, and they are honestly easier to write that way too, especially if they are based on you, bc you can link them to your internal thoughts. Q4: Do you have a favourite author? If so, who? A: probably alan gratz. points bc he writes historical fiction ofc, but when i listen to/read one of his books it feels like i am there. his characters are very relatable too. i like how all of the main characters do stupid things that they regret rather than just being heroes all the time, and the endings are resolved but not perfect. at the end of his books the characters acknowledge that their lives have been changed, and they don't pretend everything is perfect or even close to how it used to be. it feels more like real life, and something about that is very appealing to me. Q5: Do you want to be a writer when you're older? A: probably not. i might get into biotechnology or environmental/computer sciences :3 Q6: Do you have any advice for writers? If so, what is it? A: not really, im not very good tbh Q7: When it comes to writing, are you a perfectionist? A: OH YESS Q8: Have you shared a story on scratch before? A: no Q9: What's your favorite plot structure? (7 point plot structure, hero's journey plot structure, etc) A: idk Q10: What's your inspiration? A: usually nature or other books i like, mostly Warriors. Q11: Do you like making graphic novels/comics? A: yeah but it takes forever. i draw storyboards or thumbnails of each panel but never end up doing final stuff. i can't really imagine drawing an entire book where you draw the same characters over and over in different positions and stuff! i feel like they always look completely different as it goes on, even from like panel 1 to panel 10 or smt Q12: Poetry, or story writing? A: stories. acrostic poems is fun for warmups and such, and i wrote a few short stories in free verse, but otherwise i like story writing better. Q13: Fiction or non-fiction? A: easily fiction. non-fiction does not really grab my attention. Q14: What's your favorite book/series? A: i don't really know. I love WOF, KOTLC, warriors, and any Alan Gratz/ Gordon Korman books. I would say most of my inspiration comes from Warriors, and my favorite Warriors books are A Shadow In Riverclan and Crowfeather's Trial. Q15: Do you believe in writers block? A: If writer's block isn't a thing then my brain is eveen more of a black hole then I thought XD Q16: What about reader's block? A: If that means not knowing what to read, I think it's a thing, but my friends wrote me such a long book rec list that isn't an issue for me Q17: Do you like putting references in your stories? (references to other books, a movie, songs, etc) A: Sometimes, but usually nobody notices Q18: Do you like writing chapter books? A: If I'm working on my Warriors fandom stuff, otherwise it's all short stories. Q19: Realistic fiction or unrealistic fiction? A: Realistic usually. One of my favorite things about books is when I can escape into someone else's life when I'm feeling depressed about my own, and fantasy/paranormal fiction just don't do that for me. I still like Wings of Fire and KOTLC. In WOF, the dragons think, say, and do things that make me feel like they should be humans. I like Keeper of the Lost Cities because hidden in the suspense and never-ending battles, Sophie is a regular teenager trying to figure out her life like the rest of us Q20: Have you ever written a character based on someone in real life? A: All the time! I have an OC based on me, and I without even realizing it I designed her mate to be exactly like my crush. (WAIT DARG IT side note, me just realizing I let him read that story) Q21: Do you give MBTI personality types to your characters? A: Sometimes Q22: Writing in a notebook or writing on google docs? A: I do google docs Q23: What do you think is the best thing for someone to do when they get writers block? A: I like to think about what kind of story I want to write, then fill out charts about the characters. When I complete the charts I compare them and it gives me potential plot hook ideas. Q24: When did you realize you wanted to be a writer? A: Never! I hate writing Q25: Do you have a lot of OCs? A: Tons. I have trouble sleeping bc I am a d3fect and when I can't I will write a profile card for a Warriors OC. I made an elaborate family tree for the non-cannon clan I made. It has at least 60 cats on it, and most of them have stories by now, not to mention I love to make all kinds of WOF hybrids. I only have 4 or 5 dragon OCs but I made each a small family tree
(halfway through and I only have 7 characters left on the desc lol) Q26: Do you have a lot of stories you are writing? A: I only have one main project that I am picking back up from 4th grade so I prob have to start over, based on quality Q27: What's the most difficult part of planning a story? A: Deciding who d1es. I mostly write Warriors When I give every cat an elaborate profile and spend hours on each design I get attached, and I hate characters that play no role but to die. When I began the story I had already decided that the main character's sister would d1e, but I couldn't stop myself from making a super detailed profile. As the story went on, I found myself having Minktail be my favorite, and as I wrote about her d3ath I found myself uncontrollably sobbing Q28: Do you do journaling? A: no Q29: Do you write in one specific way/theme, or lots of different ways/themes? e.g. fantasy, third person, non-fiction, first person, second person, fiction, etc A: I always write fiction, unless it is nature poetry which I love as warmups :3 additionally i much favor 1st person Q30: Do you find it hard to write the first chapter/ prologue? A: yeah, especially since I know exactly how a lot of how the story will go before I start working. Q31: Have you drawn your characters before? A: all the time! often i prefer it to writing about them Q32: Have you roleplayed with your characters before? A: no, but only bc nobody was interested in doing it Q33: Do you think you take way too long planning what to write instead of actually writing? A: YESSSS Q34: What's your favorite part when editing? A: laughing at my cheesiness Q35: What's your least favorite part when editing? A: reading a part here someone d1es and asking myself AGAIN why I gave them such elaborate designs, or why it had to be them Q36: How long have you been writing? A: no idea tbh Q37: Have you tried writing in a new way before? A: yeah, originally i thought i would change to poetry instead of stories but now i like them as warmups or calming stuff Q38: What, in your opinion, is the most fun theme to write about? (not genre. A theme is like war, coming of age, good vs evil, family, etc) A: family probably. i love the dynamic of the warriors siblings and stuff, and I try to create some similar ones with my OCs. Q39: Have you written characters with sad backstories? A: definitely! i think they usually feel easier to connect with that way tbh Q40: Have you ever written yourself in a story? A: depends on what you mean by that. i have written a character that was very heavily based on me, but I didn't use my name and it was a cat instead of a human. Q41: Do you usually unintentionally make a side character more interesting than a main character? A: honestly kind of Q42: Have you ever written a character as something other than a human? A: I barely do humans Q43: Have you ever written the main character as the villain before? A: no but I sort of wanted to Q44: What's your favorite things to put in stories? (things you personally find entertaining to read/write) A: like I said earlier, sibling dynamic is always loved❤️and random plot twists bc I'm evil >:3 Q45: Have you written romance before? A: a little as a side element in my Warriors stuff, but not really. It always sounds horrible bc I'm not romantic. Q46: Do you put life lessons in your stories? A: not really Q47: What's your favorite character from a book? A: KEEFE! KEEFE! KEEFE! Q48: Writing or drawing? A: drawing Q49: Writing or reading? A: "reading" (audiobooks) Q50: Have you written a main character as the complete opposite of you before? A: tried and failed many times
