due to scratch's recent announcement of using projects on scratch to train generative ai, i will not upload any projects here until either the removal of such or an easily available "opt out" option. ive already been very inactive on this site, but this really is the last nail in the coffin. scratch is meant to showcase the creativity of youth, not be used as a tool for shoving more cash into the wallets of lazy wealthy people and further polluting this valuable planet we live on.
don't worry, i won't be falling off the face of the earth anytime soon. i'm active on a few other platforms (mainly tumblr), however i won't link them here for obvious reasons. if i still make projects using scratch (which is very unlikely), it will be uploaded exclusively to my youtube channel. and now, a little goodbye message (a eulogy, if you will): i appreciate the love and support ive received on this site over the years, and im really sorry this has to be the farwell you guys get. ive been on this site making silly projects (and getting into drama) since i was 11 or so, and now im 16 and nearing the end of my junior year in high school. this has been certainly a long love-hate relationship with this platform, but i'd be lying if scratch didn't play a pivotal role in my life and really kickstarted my love for things like game design and just making things i love in general. heck, even some of my closest friends i met on this platform. but i've really come to realize that all good things come to an end. so in short, at the end of this mountain of text, the message you should take from this is to just embrace what you love, because it'll be gone one day. so stay sharp, stay kind, and most of all, stay soggy. -SuperDuckGuy (SoggyCereal)
