Hello! (Xin chào!) Welcome to this Lunar New Year (Tết Nguyên Đán) project! As a Vietnamese, Lunar New Year is one of the most celebrated times of the year for me (even more than Christmas). So, I thought I'd make something that displays this amazing day! Also, Mai Lan, the name in the title, is actually my Vietnamese name! Not my real name, but it's more of a nickname of sorts! It means "Apricot Blossom Orchid." Click the icons to learn more. Hope you enjoy! :D About Lunar New Year: This event will be happening on February 17 this year! This year is the Year of the Horse (Con ngựa is a horse). We celebrate the Lunar New Year by: - Receiving red envelopes of lucky money (lì xì) from our elders - Eating delicious food like Tet cake (bánh tét), Chung cake (bánh chưng), and coconut candy (mứt dừa non (not exact translation)) - Watching dances (múa) performed with fans, rice hats, lion costumes, or traditional umbrellas - Playing games such as Lucky Chess (Bầu cua cá cọp (not exact translation)) It's super big, and we have lots of fun!
