So... Scratch, buddy. Come on guys you've been so cool for so long. If y'all haven't seen the new tos scratch is planning on implementing ai features into the site. They also mentioned using stuff we've created to train these models. (Updates have backtracked on this, they now say they won't be training off of user content) I understand in their latest update about this they stated that they're not using our content to train things st the moment, but that also leaves room for them to do it in the future. I feel really just....off about that idea. I dunno how to describe it but even if I'm not really known on here and my art may not be as good as other people's, the idea that things I made could be taken and used for something I didn't create, nor another human being created just feels awful. I don't know weather to take projects down or if I should just stop posting new stuff :/ I'm trying to understand scratch's side in all this but it just sucks man. I understand you guys might need a little extra cash but tossing this in on the argument that it will allow for accessable creativity is hard to defend. If people are coming to your platform to learn to code then they want to learn for themselves. If they're coming for the art then they're here to appreciate human made art, and could even be an artist, and want practice or to share what they've made without worrying so much about it being stolen. Giving these kinds of tools can be helpful sometimes sure, but it especially isn't meant to be put on a site primarily used for teaching kids a new skill. Maybe I'm not educated enough on what exactly it is they're doing but I feel like I know enough to have a feeling about the way this could go. Look at grok on the bird app for example, or what chatgpt is doing preventing people from thinking for themselves. Come on guys, you always promote creativity and this seems to undermine that. Anyway, I'm not sure what else to add besides I hope some of this made sense? And that I really really hope they don't go through with it.
