I was trying out a new drawing technique with my OC Ember! So far I'm liking it—After I figured it out I absolutely sped through like 5 more pages to chapter 2 in Brotherhood. Speaking of Brotherhood, sorry it's going so slow! I've been working on it, but veeeerrrrrryyyy slowly. (I think that's a little obvious, it's been what, 2 months? 3? 4!?)
Made on Ibis Paint! Tools: Rough Pencil for the sketch, I blended this with the outline. The outline is the light Japanese Pen, and I smoothed out the color with a Watercolor tool. Any shading is either the pencil or the lowest-opacity airbrush. I keep the sketch under the outline, but smudge it a bit where it's too dark unless for shading for a realistic hand-sketched effect, and if it's still too dark then I use the airbrush eraser so it looks smoother instead of just chopping it out. I use three different layers: Sketch on top, Outline below that, and Color as the lowest layer. If I add Shading or Depth, that goes on the uppermost layer as a separate one above all of them. Then I fit any extra added details wherever works if need be. All art by me, @AstralDaCat
