I steady my breath clenching my- my hands. I refuse to call them claws. If anyone else was here, I would be thoroughly embarrassed. Am I even human? I shy away from the thought, instead focusing on the strange doorway. Maybe not all that strange, considering the fact that I'm in an endless field. Just as I thought nothing else could surprise me, the sky was slowly growing darker. Lovely. I always feel more nervous in the dark- hold up. ‘always’? I know that darkness is, and a have a preference on it, but i don't remember ever being in it. This all hurts my head so freaking much. The grass softly swishes around me as I walk towards the doorway. The sky is darker. I can tell the size of the doorway a bit better and can see its pitch-black. The sky, darker still. Night is sure falling fast, but I don’t know anything about the rules of this place, if there are any. I can see the doorway; I just need to get closer. My leg though, the pain jabs through it like a spear finding its mark. I crumple to the ground, suddenly weary. It isn’t bad if I just take a short rest, right? I find myself thinking. No! I can’t stop now, the exit is too close! I push myself into sitting position, before promptly sneezing. Don’t tell me I’m allergic to grass, I sighed internally. Looking up, I can’t even see my own hands, a welcome improvement, I feel like some sort of monster every time I glace at my clawed hands. However, there is another, not so welcome change. The doorway is gone.
