Hello! here's an update of Operation Monke Business! So, the game's gonna be an RPG, ya hear? so i started on the battle portion of the game, and still currently am. But, i needed an rpg idea that was different than the rest, something that made it unique. The first thing i thought of was Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga, probably my favorite RPG game out there. This game revolves around timing attacks to deal more damage, and i liked that, but that was to complicated for my brain to code, so I looked elsewhere. I searched for a bit, and nothing really hit me, until i was procra- *ahem* researching and looking at @awesomeal 's projects, and back in 2024, he made the blinchmas RPG. That was it. Characters each with their own special ability. Nothing else really sparked my creativity. the only issue was (technically) it wasn't unique, but i figured as I coded I would think of something. So, before I begun coding, It wrote up a story. back when i was making Gorilla Brawl Rpg, I had a story, but it was pretty lengthy, and only had 1 main character, so i changed it up. I won't tell you the story, but i shortened (a lot) and included all the characters (which i will not reveal yet) The reason i wrote the story first was for one reason. Enemies. I wanted to think of enemy ideas that would fit with the areas of the game as soon as possible. But enemies would have to wait, because i needed to code the player turn first. Okay, to make a long story short, i coded the characters, enemy, health, ui, and even an XP bar. but it lacked originality. it was too much like blinchmas RPG. I thought and thought what should i add to make this game original!? When it hit me. Mario and Luigi: Superstar saga. In the game, when an enemy atttacks, you could time a jump to avoid the attack. I was perfect, but i couldn't just copy the jump, so instead i made it a dodge (but it still functioned the same) The problem, though, was being able to dodge requires me to code attacks for the enemy, so i kind of restarted the enemy, and coded a basic attack for the first enemy. And it turned out quite well! So far, this is were I'm at. I finishing up the RPG part of the game, and will keep coding on!
