The Republic of Kawthoolei Declared Indpendence from Myanmar on January 7th, 2025, However the Organization that declared independence is the Kawthoolei Army which declared it despite not owning any land and being around 200 people strong, the main group for the karen people known as the Karen National Union has dismissed this and it is unlikely to be taken seriously.
