Hi! This poem is about when some people are so popular, so confident and perfect that they overshadow some people that don't speak up as much or generally just keep themselves to themselves. But those stars still matter, still have a solar system depending on them, so still have purpose in this universe. Keep going! If you read my poems, try and click the green flag before you read them - that's the only way they can get views and I'd love to see how many of you read my work! Thanks. Also thanks to @its_aves who helped me come up with the idea for this poem. Please give feedback because I'm not really advanced at poetry and I'd liked to hear from people that are. Poem Number Nine!
If you look at a night sky, What do you see? Millions, Billions, Of tiny points of light, Stars, stitched into constellations, Pretty drawings of connected light bursts, Blossoms of brightness, Almost like a blanket. So close, So beautiful, Yet pale into insignificance when you think Of just how many there are. So many, You can't really pay attention to all of them. They look so close, When in reality, They are light years apart, They look so united, together, When in reality, Each is just as isolated as the next. We are all stars, Competing to be the brightest, Competing to be the biggest, Fighting to be the best, And some succeed, Some, Fade away, Overshadowed by the overwhelming light Of the stars more loved Than them.
