English | Since 1999, International Mother Language Day has been observed every year on 21 February, following UNESCO’s declaration. This day is celebrated worldwide to promote linguistic diversity, multilingual education, and respect for all mother languages. The date 21 February is deeply rooted in history. On 21 February 1952, students in Dhaka sacrificed their lives while protesting for the recognition of Bangla as a state language of Pakistan. Their bravery during the Language Movement of 1952 became a powerful symbol of the right to speak one’s mother tongue. In honor of these language martyrs, UNESCO later declared this day as International Mother Language Day. In 2026, this studio celebrates the spirit of language, identity, and cultural heritage. Language is more than communication — it carries history, emotion, resistance, and unity. This studio welcomes Scratch projects that highlight the importance of mother languages and the beauty of linguistic diversity around the world. -------------------------------- Looking for ideas to get started? - Create an animation about the Language Movement of 1952 - Make a project explaining why your mother language is important to you - Teach basic words or phrases in your native language - Create a quiz game about world languages - Showcase endangered or less-spoken languages These are only suggestions — original and creative ideas are always welcome! -------------------------------- ~ Rules ~ [ × ] No spamming [ × ] No advertising [ × ] Don’t promote anyone [ × ] Don’t remove anyone without permission [ × ] No F4F [ × ] No unrelated projects [ × ] Please don’t ask to be manager [ + ] Be respectful [ + ] Help others [ + ] Give meaningful feedback -------------------------------- ~ Want to add a project ~ Post the project link in the comments section of this studio.
