Lol stuff gets intense here. But it's ONLY the start of it all mwahahaaa Tbh I kinda cringe at these first chapters I wrote, I hope they're not too bad, cause the writing does get better, especially as the conflict climbs. Btw I already fully planned out the ending and I'm currently at 38,000 words. But I think the whole story may end up being more than 50,000 help lol BTW this story updates Mondays by 12 50 PM so ye Yknow what the thumbnail art I did reminds me of IT STARTED WHEN AN ALIEN DEVICE DID WHAT IT DID (Ben 10) FIRST: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1267225567/ NEXT: PREV: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1274178564/
Shadow trudged through the 2nd day of rain in a row and managed to stay away from the bullies the whole day. He could consider himself lucky in that context. But unlucky since he had to repair his wooden home made from stolen scraps in a warehouse dumpster. He sighed, his quills starting to droop and drip from the potent clouds darkening. :A storm? Not now…: Shadow decided to find shelter elsewhere for the night. By the time he reached a secluded and covered area in an alleyway, he was soaked through. And right when he settled onto the freezing concrete, distant thunder sounded. :Hope it doesn't strike me…: After finally catching a short restless doze after hours of tossing and turning, Shadow gave up resting altogether. He roamed the still raining city in melancholic silence, with only the splattering drops to break it. He felt the presence of something nearby and couldn't help but follow it. 5 minutes of this and he reached a dirt mound. Dig. He dug up the soil in an almost trancelike state, determined to uncover what was there. When his hands met something hard and smooth, he lifted it up and saw what it was. A green emerald called to him. It sounded confusing to his head, except a part of him reveled in it. Chaos energy. 2 words he never heard together came to him like remembering a nostalgic song. Shadow quickly nestled the emerald into his arm and ran towards the makeshift of his makeshift home. Shadow was almost at the shelter, ignoring the rain everywhere, when he was stopped by a group of people in dark cloaks. “Who are you?” He demanded, hiding the fear in his voice. “You're in our home,” one voice grumbled. “We don't welcome outsiders,” another growled. “GET HIM!” They all charged at him. Shadow swiftly dodged to the best of his ability, still cradling the emerald with one arm. Shadow tried to run away, trying to avoid any fight, but someone grabbed his ankle from behind and his face hit the soaking pavement. He felt scratches from the friction as they dragged him and held him still, partially standing him up with each guy holding each of his limbs. “Get the revolver,” one ordered. Shadow tried not to cry as his heart thundered in his ears. :I'm gonna die!: Then another voice spoke. :No you won't. Chaos Blast…: Shadow tried to breathe as he heard reloading and his fury climbed to unbelievable levels. I'M NOT GONNA DIE! NOT AFTER ALL I'VE BEEN THROUGH! The world started to become red as he felt cold metal pressed onto his forehead. And as he braced for the gunshot, the aura around him grew redder. “What's it doing?” “Shoot it!” Shadow clenched his teeth. “CHAOS… BLAST!!!” He felt himself loosen as the shockwave rippled all around him, freeing him from his enemies. The gun clattered onto the wet ground. Shadow snatched the soaking handle before they could, and ran as fast as his whole being would allow. He found shelter under a tree on the outskirts of a forest and he collapsed into it, exhaustion preventing him from wondering what just happened.
