For decades, the ideological opponents of the world have been struggling to dominate the world, leading coups, proxy conflicts and direct interventions. The Soviet Union, though containing a vast land mass and direct control of the state, is slowly collapsing due to heavy financial strain. Recently their invasion of Afghanistan has shown this, with fighting seeing no closure anytime soon. The United States and it's allies, though ahead of the Soviets economically, have proven to also be desperate to stop the communist expansion, with many in the Western Bloc attempting to overthrow communist regimes. In the end, it will be up to the level headed minds of the day, to decide whether to chose peace, or nuclear anihilation.
