Date: 1/2397 A new year, new turmoil. During the last few months of 2397, the Dominion blit's through south America, knocked two enemy states out of the war. The ORN has shown it's cracks as a slow to react and ineffective defensive alliance, with only NASM taking the war seriously, and they would be bogged down by diplomatic talks and a ORN vote on war, during which they could only watch as the Dominion's fearsome reputation of being experts at the art of war proven to still be true. But despite large territorial gains, the main goal of quickly defeating it's border enemies before the Gem Invasion has failed.... Cardassian spies managed to warn the Dominion early on that the Romulan People's Republic and the Gem Empire are about to launch a joint full-scale invasion of the Dominion, with the ultimate goal of taking Sol. Once they attack, Star-Force will be forced to withdraw from the inner solar system in order to hold off the massive Gem+Romulan fleets. Star-Force, the jewel of the Military Collective, is the Dominion's main ace. With it, it is able to effectively have navel+air superiority, and capable of bombarding enemy infrastructure and troops to cripple their ability to wage war, while also blockading them from galactic trade and the Dyson swarm. Not only would the Dominion not hold this massive advantage, but its enemies could completely cut off the homeland from its interstellar empire. So for the duration of the war, the Dominion has rapidly been stocking up resources from its empire on Earth and Mercury to prepare for siege. Not only will Star-Force be withdrawing, but nearly 5 billion troops of the home garrison has to be moved out to a major defensive line along the Orion belt. Leaving just 3 billion men and women to defend the homeland, with almost half of them being young children, and a small portion actually deployed for combat, the rest managing the industry and logistic lines. However, all Dominlings are trained from birth to fight, as soon as they can they enter the "scouts" and engage in trading missions against mutated beasts on the surface, many have past combat experience from the First Galactic war, and if needed, can be ready to fight at a moment's notice, but at the cost of putting strain on logistics. The Dominion will lack the numbers and resources to wage effective offensive warfare, and thus must do a defensive strategy. So, as soon as they occupy new territory, major defensive systems are constructed. Alongside already existing defensive infrastructure throughout the mountainous home territory. Meanwhile, the offensives in Adyntum and the Caribbean begin to grind to a stop, as the time it takes for our forces to clear their fleshy wasteland buys time for them to regroup and retaliate. The attempt to cut Adyntum in half via the Mississippi would fail due to this, and the Dominion would be forced to order a mass skirmisher attack to screen our movements while we fallback to more defendable positions is territory already cleared. While the Caribbean would become the first earthlings to fire through our tripod shields, pushing us back inland to stronger defenses. But by now, the major new defensive lines have been established along the Amazon river, Sul Jungles, Bolivian/Argentine/Colombian/Venezuelan mountains, central America, and down the mountainous terrain of Mexico. The Dominion will utilize the terrain, brutal ice-age winter, numbers, technology, and tactics to hold onto these lines at least until spring arrives, where hopefully the galactic war would be over by then(Lol, doubtful)
"300 years ago, there was a great war across the Promised Sea(Pacific) between the old American and Japanese Empires. The Japanese were pushed back and back, but refused to surrender. Until the Americans reached the tiny island of iwo jima, which was actual Japanese territory.... The Americans would lose immense casualties for such a small island because of the symbolic importance. This showed the American's that invading the Japanese home islands would result in catastrophic casualties for every INCH of Japan. So instead, they took the easy way and unleashed the first nuclear fire in history.... But unlike Japan, we will not surrender to any super weapon. We will make each INCH of our sacred homeland cost 10 thousand Iwo Jima's for our enemies! WE have nothing to lose, our enemies seek nothing but our total extinction. Not since the days of warlords have we faced extermination in the face, but I led us out of it back then, and I will lead you out of this today! Or I shall drive my own sword through me. Unlike Japan..... We have nothing to lose, we fight not for land or power, but our continued EXISTENCE. If they wish to enter our homes, then our guests must pay rent in blood....." - The Prime Director to the collective. On the 14th of Januray, the Romulans conducted a full-scale attack on the border, but were humiliated by Star-Force who knew their plans that Cardassian spies leaked. Not long after, a massive hoard of at least 10 million gem warships was detected moving onto the border. Their attack has started 2 months early, and thus Star-Force is forced to withdraw from Sol to reinforce the fleet, as every ship counts when facing such a gigantic beast..... In an irony, the Dominion just months ago deployed overwhelming numbers against the Caribbean and ORN, now it itself faces overwhelming force. The offensive guns are now silent, the trenches now sing.... The Dominion has also started quietly withdrawing from Spania, and has offered to lease the Sajor base to Azovu to keep it safe. For the first time in history, the Dominion has started engaging with international trade, knowing even its stocked up resource reserves will run out eventually, it has introduced rationing early on, and will request buying resources from neutral states like China to replace the supply from space.
