The next installment in the Joaquin series is now in the concept stages. It will most likely be a scrolling platformer game on Scratch. What do you think it should look like? What should the story be? Give me some ideas in the comments below! If you aren't aware, Joaquin is a new games series of mine inspired by Ancient Egypt (as well as the Maa series, which I used to work on). The main theme of the series so far is the battle between the ancient and modern world. Joaquin lives in Aratep, an isolated part of the world untouched by modern-day technology. The rest of the world is overrun with advanced machinery, but the people of Aratep still live in stone houses and rely on the Sacred Lake for their crops and drinking water. Aratep stands out as a place of natural beauty and majestic purity. However, everyting changed when a man named Havoc attacked. He traveled to Aratep and started building a giant synthetic island in the Sacred Lake, causing the riverbanks to flood. In the process, he also stole the Nuzin, an artifact that can control the waters of the Sacred Lake. Joaquin, the hero of Aratep, volunteers to take care of the problem. He goes all the way to the man-made island and meets Havoc in his airship. Havoc attaches the Nuzin to his chest, but Joaquin drills right through his chest to retrieve it. He then uses it to launch the entire island far away, taking the airship (and Havoc's body) along with it. What do you think should happen in the next installment? Feel free to speculate and offer your own ideas in the comments. Music Used: Lava Lamp - Steppin' On Em (Album by StevePiPi)
