# WELCOME TO LEGACIES A Warrior Cats Roleplay about power, lineage, and what survives after us. Hey there—welcome! Legacies is a large, long-term RP, and yes, it can feel like a lot at first. This page exists to make your first steps smoother, calmer, and way less intimidating. Take your time. You don’t need to understand everything immediately. No one does. --- Getting Started If you’re confused or stuck at any point: ask the community or staff. Legacies players are encouraged to help newcomers, and questions are always welcome. How do I begin? You begin the roleplay as a kit, born into an existing litter. All kits start at 1 moon old. Kits younger than that aren’t allowed (they can’t really move or interact). To join, you’ll apply to an open litter. Once accepted, that kit becomes your character and your entry point into the RP. Some litters are: FCFS (First Come, First Serve) — great for new players Selective — the litter host chooses based on applications Don’t stress if you don’t get in right away. New litters open regularly. --- Can I make my own original character? No—characters must be born through the litter system. This is intentional. Legacies focuses heavily on generations, inheritance, aging, death, and family lines. The system automatically creates siblings, parents, and long-term connections that wouldn’t exist otherwise. It also helps protect players from losing deeply personal OCs early on—death is common here. --- Do I really need to read the rules? Yes. Gently but firmly: yes. Definetly. Legacies has several rules and systems that are *not* standard for Warrior Cats RPs. Reading them early will save you confusion later. --- Can I have more than one character? No. Each player may have **one living character at a time**. This encourages: * deeper character development * stronger emotional stakes * meaningful relationships and consequences When a character dies, you may apply for a new kit. --- What are stats / rolling systems? Certain actions in Legacies aren’t guaranteed to succeed. Things like fighting, sneaking out, risky behavior, or major decisions may require rolls. These keep outcomes fair and prevent powerplaying. You never roll for yourself—systems and volunteers handle that. --- This feels overwhelming. There’s so much. That’s completely normal. You are not expected to memorize everything or read every document immediately. Most systems only matter at certain life stages. Rule of thumb: * Learn what applies to your character *right now * Pick up the rest as you go Legacies is meant to unfold gradually. --- How does aging work here? Legacies uses a custom aging system so that: * kits and apprentices matter more * elders don’t last forever * full lifespans happen in a reasonable real-world timeframe Aging speeds up as characters grow older. This allows generations to pass naturally while keeping RP engaging at every stage. (You do not track this yourself.) --- Do I need to make a bio? Nope! Bios are optional. If you enjoy writing them, feel free to—if not, that’s totally fine. Your character will still be tracked and recognized. --- Do I track my age, stats, or records? No. Volunteers and systems handle that for you so you can focus on roleplay. --- What if I need a break or go inactive? If you’re planning a hiatus, notify the inactivity coordinator. Important notes: * Hiatuses prevent removal for inactivity * Aging and random events may still occur This keeps timelines fair for everyone. --- What do staff do? Staff members help maintain systems, records, and organization. They: * are not roleplay police * do not override core rules * help keep Legacies running smoothly If there’s a serious issue, contact the host directly. --- Final Words Legacies is a story about what is passed down—power, violence, loyalty, belief, and memory. Take it slow. Ask questions. Get attached. Welcome to Legacies
Inspired from GENERATION'S welcome & faq I will make a few Kickstart litters... I promise
