|||NOT FINISHED||| The Teraminos Map for the upcoming studio. The new studio will primarily focus on one period, the Nemoracene, also known as the age of new forests. <Controls> -Tap to change annotations (tectonic, coordinate, label) - - - <Points of Interest> The following list compiles various unique points of interest on the planet. Because of the amount of annotations I have made on the map, I will save the full list for a different project. For now, here are a few examples: Flesh Forest: A large strip of tropical rainforest endemic to the hottest regions of the small continent Jilan. Flora has evolved red anthocyanins, pigments in their leaves to protect them from the intense UV exposure of their star due to the equator's concentrated starlight. Similar red flora has evolved convergently elsewhere, but none have congregated to the degree of the Flesh Forest. The planet's pronounced Milankovitch cycles fluctuate the forest's expanse. Afalostian Dead Zone: A cold, volcanic desert plateau situated in the lower latitudes of Teraminos. Volcanic activity from the Strezan-Afalostian rift valley has made the soil too young and toxic for flora to take hold. Aside from a few small subterranean organisms, the desert remains largely devoid of life. Isle of Vue: A young and rapidly expanding rocky island resulting from a mantle plume. The slowing speed of the Vue plate after the separation of supercontinent Megali has made the island stand over the active mantle plume for millions of years, making the island grow at unprecedented speed. Cooling lava from volcanos had created structures called lava tubes, intricate caves systems in which recently arrived lifeforms seek solace from the volatile surface. Iracan Badlands: The largest, most driest region in all of Teraminos. The convergent boundaries of subcontinent Iracus and mainland Gomaca has formed the great Macxerian mountain range, blocking moisure from the rest of the Iracan subcontinent and creating scorching dry conditions. The badlands' geography is incredibly diverse nonetheless, with mesas, dunes, and rocky flats. Vestania Firewoods: An ecosystem that relies entirely on wildfires. Many comparable habitats exist across the planet, but the Vestania Firewoods are the most grand of all. Seemingly perpetual fires break out because of the warm waters replenished by ocean currents, forming thunderstorms that wreak havoc on its wildlife, in addition to higher atmospheric oxygen. Organisms welcome the blazes with fire inciting adaptations instead of resistance.
I decided to share the map as it is for now. I know that I don't really have time to finish it this moment (exams) but eventually I will. The map still needs: -Vestania and Zogope Habitats -Bodies of Water -Labels Graze The Roof - Plants Vs Zombies Epic Version
