~~~~~~ press space on the project for smth lol ~~~~~ CH 3 Percy The whole dining hall went quiet. And looked around. No one had ever heard a prophecy delivered without prompting, or even at a simple lunch. “Well,” Chiron said, breaking the silence. “I suppose we must have a meeting of councilors. Everyone else, don’t concern yourself with this.” The older campers started making moves to get up and attend the meeting, but Mr. D quickly stopped them. “Dear gods, please eat first, it’s bad enough the Big House is going to be crawling with you kids instead of being peaceful; I will not have you all trying to eat my food either.” Everyone went back to their eating, whispering about what the prophecy could mean, or simply going back to their gossiping. One of the new campers, Carter, Percy thought, tugged on his sleeve. “Why was that lady covered in green air and talking weird?” “Yeah, and it rymed,” added Camden helpfully. “It’s nothing that you guys need to worry about,” Annabeth said nicely. “Are you two hungry?” Percy asked (guys im so hungry rn, but I need to finish this chapter TOT) The boys nodded vigorously. After sitting down and finishing their meals, Percy and Annabeth brought the boys to the Hermes cabin, where they would wait until they got claimed, and helped them get a spot to the side, away from the campers who took the thievery side of Hermes seriously. Camden and Carter immediately started pulling out locks from their pockets. Percy watched, mesmerized for a bit, as they made quick work of picking them and relocking them. Carter looked up. “I thought you guys were leaving?” “Yeah,” echoed Camden. “Oh, yeah. You guys good?” asked Percy. “Yep!” Carter said happily As Percy and Annabeth walked to the Big House, Percy turned to Annabeth. “I wonder who those kids' parents are?” “Yeah, probably Hermes. Did you see how fast they were picking those locks? Simple modules, but still.” As Percy and Annabeth entered the meeting area, all the other counselors were already gathered around the table.”Finally,” Connor Stoll, Hermes head councilor, groaned. “You two took forever. What were you even doing? Eating? Because if you have blue cookies and didn't bring enough for the class, I’m staging a coup.” “Alright, Connor, that's enough,” said Chiron. “Everyone, we need to think about this prophecy and decide if we need a quest.” “Should we go line by line?” Asked Annabeth. “Good idea,” said Percy. “So the first line was... what again?” Rachel rolled her eyes. “Twice is it given, twice is it spoken.” “So it will be said twice!” said Holly Victor, co-head of Nike “Hey! I thought of that first!!” shouted her twin, Laurel Victor. “Well, I said it so-” “/Please/ girls,” said Chiron, exasperated. “Let's just come back to that. Now, ‘in a world of light and where gods awaken.’” As Percy pondered that line. He knew that they were probably in ‘the world where gods awaken’, but he couldn’t figure out what the light part was, then it hit him. “I know! Annabeth, your cousin, Magnus, he said something about the 9 worlds, right? Is one of them all about light?” “Alfheiem! That’s brilliant!” Percy could already see the gears turning in his girlfriend’s brain. “That could connect to the fourth line as well, the one about elves. Magnus and Alex’s friend, Hearthstone, is an elf, and they live in Alfhiem! Rachel, do you think that you could get Apollo to deliver a note to the others who received the prophecy?” “Sure, I can do that.” Percy turned. That sounded nothing like Rachel. “So, are you going to write the message or what? Also, I want some of your mom’s bean dip sacrificed to me for this, Percy.” There, lounging on one of the chairs, was Apollo himself, in the form of Lester, granted with some slight improvements, such as less acne and much healthier hair. “Lord Apollo!” exclaimed Annabeth, immediately bowing. “I have come to offer my services, being the gracious god I am. And a chance for Lady Sally’s cooking didn't hurt either.” “So if we write a message, and I promise to sacrifice some dip later, you’ll deliver it to the other ones that got the prophecy?” “Yeah, yeah, get on with it.” The group quickly talked and worked out a short message and sealed it in an envelope. “There. Now you’ll give it to Magnus?” asked Annabeth. Apollo smiled. “I’ll get it to the others that got the prophecy,” and disappeared in a flash of light.
