The flight was about 5 hours according to the tickets, but I couldn't confirm that. I had the window seat, and my mom had the middle seat. At one of the flight I thought I heard tapping, but I was barely awake. There wasn't much stuff interesting about the flight, I mostly just watched movies, with the occasional look out the window. There was a child crying a few rows ahead of us, and it sounded like the parents were trying to make him stop, but I stopped paying attention. My mom didn't talk much, she just glanced around the plane. There was someone in the aisle seat who would occasionally start mumbling, although I couldn't hear what they were saying. "Iris, how are you doing?" My mom asked about 3 hours into the flight. "I'm doing fine." I respond, not thinking about it. "How about you?" "I'm fine." She responded, seeming actually truthful, unlike people who say it out of routine to not make the conversation awkward. "Are you excited?" "Yeah, a little bit, I guess." I went back to watching movies, my mom making comments on what is happening every 10 minutes, or so. Normally I'd be annoyed, but it kind of added at least a little bit of interest into the movie. The rest of the flight continued on the same. Just movies, the sound of the plane, and occasional mumbling from different people. Eventually we landed, and the flight attendant came to start getting everyone out of the plane. "Aunt June should be just outside of the airport. She said that she drives a blue car." My mom said casually. We found her car parked outside after about 10 minutes. "Hi Anne, hi Iris!" She said, with a surprising amount of energy for being really late in the night. "Hi Aunt June." I responded, not tired, but not quite fully awake. "Alright, you ready to go?" "Yeah." Me, and mom said. "OK, get into the car." She replied. As we drove out of the airport I looked out the window to see trees standing tall, flowers around the edge of the road, and the mountains in the distance. There was some snow from when it snowed ealier that morning, at least according to the weather report. After about 2 hours we finally got to the house. It somewhat far away from the city, surrounded by a large forest. There was a large empty space in the front yard, a little area of it occupied by a garden. "Welcome home." Said Aunt June with a welcoming voice. "It's pretty late, so I'll show you guys around later, for now I'll show you where your rooms are." She said. I didn't know what would come the next day. This was our new life, and we had to move on from California, but I don't know how I can do that when I had so many memories, so many friends, so many people I felt like I left behind. Now, we have to focus on rebuilding that. -❆- I don't think I've ever been on a plane, so I tried to desribe it the best I could, but I probably got something wrong. Also rather short, I think this is the shortest chapter so far, I tried to keep the pacing at a good speed, but it might have gone to fast. I also tried describing more things cause yeah -❆-
