Ergos (genderless, prefers non-gendered pronouns,) is a weird in-between of living and non-living, think Nightmare on Elms street, where they appear in both the crewmates & impostors dreams (or even make someone sleep standing up to meet them if they're really that eager.) Assume when I say you, I mean the little bean character things, not like... humans. They're not necessarily on any side, they kind of just show up for some folk to see if they're willing to accept their fate. Basically, when they appear, they'll show an item relating to your future, morphing it out of their body, DO NOT at any point look away while they're doing this. Even if it looks kinda weird and uncomfortable, if Ergos sees you looking away, they'll assume you don't want your future and just make you drop dead when you wake up. You can express whatever emotion you want bc they can't read that, but the moment you try to shield your eyes away from the object they hold, it's so joever. Ergos is not tryna be mean by doing this, they don't really comprehend emotion. In fact, they think they're doing you a favor. "Oh, well, obviously they want clarity on their future, lemme help" & "Oh, they don't like it. I won't let them suffer through destiny" is basically their thought process. Why does Ergos have a bow? They saw it on one of the crewmates/impostors (they don't know the difference between the species) and thought it looked nice, so they formed one on their body. They know nothing of fashion. You could theoretically communicate with Ergos if you so pleased, but Ergos lowkey be speaking in ancient tongues so good luck trying to decipher what they're saying before you wake up.
tl;dr: Ergos shows up in yo head and tries to show you something & if you look away they low-key kinda just make you stop living. Womp womp!1!!
