ok, don't wanna be meme-ish. i'm sure all of you have heard of mario kart wii at least once, unless you've been living under a rock. and each and every one of these games (unless you count mario kart arcade gp dx/vr) has had rainbow road in it, and mario kart wii's isn't one to be made fun of. with half pipes boosting into the are and big holes in the ground and a rainbow glittery tube cannon, halfpipe zipper and ending section, this track is without doubt one to remember. but on january 13th, 2021, renowned mario kart wii player arthur (from the country of france) reinvented how you play the track. ever since 2010, players have been using funky kong on the flame flyer. but all changed when he pulled up on a DUCK. lemme clarify. he used baby daisy on the quacker, a bike inspired from the cataquacks in super mario sunshine, large, round, button-eyed ducks. he used it as it was the lightest vehicle in the game, therefore having great acceleration, and he used baby daisy because she overall have a speed bonus compared to baby mario, baby luigi and baby peach. in 2023, tas'er malleo discovered a new way by using the shooting star/phantom/wario bike. rta (real time attack) players soon implemented this in world records. now, barrel rolling is a technique on n64 bowser castle where skilled players wheelie, go back, use a shroom, hop, wheelie, and go into the air to clear 90% of the track in 17 seconds.this could be implemented in rainbow road due to its similar gap between the walls at the straightaway on the start. however, said player would have to clear a 30-ish% larger gap, and do it again maybe? however, this is a stupid theory, and probably won't be done any time soon. peace :)
