Soulfaith | He/Him | 14 moons ~ Soulfaith walked quietly across the desert sands. The Oasis was his destination, but his heart felt left behind at the gathering. The winds of change… this was a whole hurricane. Soulfaith paused for a moment, a single paw half raised in the air as he turned towards the ocean. He couldn’t quite see it in the darkened night, but he knew, somewhere across those waters, was Iceclan’s island. The same island that had declared war. Was peace not an option? All of this, over what? Shards of agate? A single beach? Were the leaders truly this prideful? Soulfaith struggled to blame Daybreakstar, of course… Cavernclan’s leader was defending her home. But Aurora-Quartzrock… it was greed. It was gluttony. It was burgeoning, blistering arrogance, such that even Soulfaith could not fathom it. And yet, Soulfaith could do naught but wait. How badly Soulfaith wished to side with Cavernclan! The code wished, perhaps even demanded Soulfaith to fight against codebreakers, but the Dustrunners had not the strength to fight. They would be crushed, trampled like dust if they tried to hold their own. Not yet, Soulfaith thought to himself. Soon. The wind against Soulfaith’s pelt was nice. Even though Soulfaith still felt a little under the weather, he knew that he had no time left to rest and recover. The Barren Lands were soon to rise, no longer just a passing point of the path, but a true landmark. Soulfaith smiled slightly to himself. Mercy. Where was the mercy for him when he got his eye slashed? There was no mercy. Where was the mercy when he fought that fox? There was no mercy. Where was the mercy when Soulfaith fought Flintforge…? Soulfaith was the mercy. Was Soulfaith no more than weakness incarnate? Or did he hold a tenderness in his heart that no other cat did? Was it mercy… or compassion? Empathy? So many thoughts, all whirling around at once. Soulfaith sighed softly, setting back off for the Barrens. He had a deputy to announce, after all. (ERP!)
